OBI ISLAND, May 23, 2023 &mdash; Harita Nickel has consistently implemented Environment, Social and Government (ESG) principles through a mangrove rehabilitation program in South Halmahera, North Maluku. No doubt, commitment of this integrated nickel mining and downstream company group operating in Obi Island has drawn compliments.
Appreciation expressed by a team from Indonesia's Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment&nbsp;Affairs (Kemenko Marves), Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) during a working visit to Harita Nickel site in Kawasi Village, Obi District, South Halmahera, on Saturday-Sunday, May 20-21, 2023.
Fatma Puspitasari, Coordinator of Forest Utilization and Conservation Control of Kemenko Marves, said visit was conducted by a team of three ministries in order to monitor and evaluate the Joint Memorandum of Understanding (NKB) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) Mangrove Rehabilitation to support the national target of 600,000 ha of mangrove land by 2024.

Fatma expressed her appreciation to PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (PT TBP), Harita Nickel's business entity as a mandated holder of the National Strategic Project (PSN) Obi Industrial Estate, which has implemented a partnership program with the government through social and environmental responsibility schemes.
In fact, she emphasized, PT TBP had carried out similar activities prior to the NKB and PKS signing of mangrove rehabilitation with Coordinating Ministry of Marves on November 17, 2022. Since 2021, she added, the company has partnered with Khairun University of Ternate to carry out a series of mangrove plantation and rehabilitation activities by empowering local communities.
According to her, such mangrove rehabilitation and various environmental conservation programs that have been carried out by the company serve as proof of Harita Nickel's commitment to sustainable business governance in accordance with ESG principles.
"Of course this is also an added value for PT TBP as a public company," she said.
Appreciation is also expressed to all companies in the Harita Nickel business unit that have implemented Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs to encourage economic self-sufficiency of their surrounding communities.
Restoration Coordinator of Coastal and Small Island Utilization Directorate (P4K) at Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Hery Gunawan Daulay emphasized on the importance of mangroves for marine ecology. He said mangroves function as a buffer zone to protect coastal areas from damage.
"If we want to see fish and marine biota grow well, of course we need to maintain marine ecology by maintaining coastal ecosystems. The abundance of fish and marine life can be utilized economically by people, of course, in moderation," he explained.
Furthermore, he encourages that Harita Nickel's mangrove rehabilitation program can continue so that more mangrove land can be added from year to year. 
"We encourage companies to preserve coastal ecosystems in various ways. Not only mangroves, but also coral reefs and seagrasses. We saw its seagrass potential is also quite high," he said while monitoring mangrove planting sites in the coastal area of Soligi Village, Obi Subdistrict.
Meanwhile, Environmental Marine Compliance Manager of Harita Nickel, Windy Prayogo said mangrove rehabilitation program as part of social and environmental responsibility, consistently carried out by the company until now. 
He explained, total land that has been planted mangroves as of early 2023 is 23.73 ha with a total of mangroves that have been planted at least 40 thousand seedlings. The mangrove rehabilitation program is spread across four locations in South Halmahera Regency, including Soligi Village in Obi Subdistrict, Awango and Belang-Belang Villages in Bacan Subdistrict and Guruapin Village in Kayoa Subdistrict. 
Director of Health, Safety and Environment Harita Nickel Tonny H Gultom explained, mangrove rehabilitation activities aim to preserve coastal ecosystems so that they can provide benefits for both environment and society. 
According to Tonny, collaboration of many parties is needed to succeed the program. Therefore, Harita Nickel collaborates with academics and government, while empowering local communities in nursery activities, planting and self-supporting monitoring of mangrove conditions on the ground. 
"We hope that mangrove forests that have been successfully rehabilitated will become a source of livelihood and welfare for the community," Tonny said.
In addition to mangrove rehabilitation, company also makes various efforts to preserve marine ecology. The marine monitoring program includes monitoring of seawater quality, marine sediment quality, and marine biota including plankton, benthos, coral reefs and reef fish. He emphasized that this program is supported by sea monitoring vehicles and equipment with proven technology.
He added that the company, which has been officially listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) through its entity PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), in early April achieved compliance status for its environmental management and monitoring from the North Maluku Provincial Environmental Agency.

Kemenko Marves Appreciates Harita Nickel's Consistency in Mangrove Rehabilitation, Preserving South Halmahera's Coastline

JAKARTA, May 17, 2023 - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk and its subsidiaries ("the Company") (stock code: NCKL), an integrated nickel mining and downstream company with upstream and downstream capabilities in Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, booked a net profit of the parent entity of Rp 4.7 trillion in 2022, up 137.1% from Rp 2.0 trillion in the previous year. The net profit of parent entity increased due to a 307.7% rise in its associate's profit to IDR 2.9 trillion compared to IDR 715 billion in the previous year and a 16.3% increase in operating revenue in 2022 to IDR 9.6 trillion compared to IDR 8.2 trillion in 2021. This revenue increase was largely due to volume growth in the Company and its subsidiaries.
In 2022, the Company's operating cost to revenue ratio was successfully reduced from 11.5% to 7.2% with operating costs of Rp 947.0 billion down to Rp 691.7 billion in 2022. Profit of its associates rose 307.7% from Rp715 billion to Rp2.9 trillion as the associates' profit in 2021 only came from the last quarter of 2021 and in 2022 the associates' profit from the full 12 months, while profit for the period rose 121.0% to Rp4.6 trillion from Rp2.1 trillion in the previous year.
In line with the Government's program to advance nickel industry from upstream to downstream, the Company will continue to invest and develop production facilities that will increase production volume and added value. The Company will also continue to maintain a healthy and strong financial position to anticipate future working capital requirements. The Company will continue to cooperate with partners who are able to transfer technology and assist in improving human resource skills in the Company.
For the Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) production line, The company has a subsidiary already in production, namely PT Megah Surya Pertiwi ("MSP") which has a production capacity of 25 thousand metal tons / year, while other subsidiaries of the Company, namely PT Halmahera Jaya Feronikel ("HJF"), has completed the construction of 2 (two) production lines out of a total of 8 (eight) production lines under construction by the end of 2022. The total production capacity of HJF is 95 thousand metal tons/year and its construction is expected to be completed by mid-2023, in accordance with the previously targeted plan.
From the High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) refinery production line, the Company has completed the 3rd production line of PT Halmahera Persada Lygend and currently in ramping up period so that the total production capacity of MHP (Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate) will increase to 55 thousand metal tons/year in mid-2023. In addition, the Company is also in the final construction stage of its Nickel Sulphate and Cobalt Sulphate production facilities which are expected to be completed in early second quarter of 2023. Nickel Sulfate and Cobalt Sulfate are one of the main raw materials for precursors needed in manufacturing electric vehicle batteries.&nbsp;
Concerning sustainability, the Company will continuously commit to sustainability integration in business processes, local community engagement and development, and the environment. The five main focuses of the Company's community programs are health, education, economy, social and infrastructure.

 About PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk
PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk ("TBP") engages in integrated mining and downstream operations in Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku. In addition to having an IUP, since 2016 the company through its subsidiaries has owned a saprolite nickel smelter and a limonite nickel processing and refinery facility since 2021 in the same operational area. Both facilities are present to support the downstream mandate of the Indonesian government by utilizing the nickel mining products of TBP and its subsidiaries engaged in nickel mining. NCKL's Net Profit as Parent Entity Owner Increased by 137% to IDR 4.7 trillion in 2022

South Halmahera, 19 April 2023 - Harita Nickel held Ramadan 1444 Hijri safari in Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku. The nickel mining and downstream company group, which listed its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange last week through its business entity PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk, distributed donations and Eid packages to hundreds residents in three sub-districts.
 
Department Head of Community Affairs Harita Nickel Latif Supriadi said the Ramadan safari is part of the company's annual Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program. 
He explained that in this year's Ramadan safari event, the company organized various activities involving hundreds of residents in 14 villages spread across 3 sub-districts in Obi Island. These included breakfasting with residents and community leaders, giving donations to at least 520 orphans and 800 Eid gifts in the form of Eid packages to the elderly, widows/widowers and religious leaders. 
"Through this Ramadan Safari, we want to stay in touch and at the same time share happiness with the community, especially Muslims who are fasting during Ramadan and will soon celebrate Eid al-Fitr," he explained. 
From this activity, his party hopes to strengthen the company's relationship and togetherness with the community, which has been harmonious so far.
"All of this is nothing but our commitment to always be together with the community, religious leaders and all other stakeholders to work together to develop the region as well as contribute to the nation," he said.
In addition to Obi Island, Latif added, Harita Nickel in collaboration with a number of institutions also distributed more than 3 thousand Eid packages in Ternate City and Labuha, North Maluku.

Obi Sub-District Head, La Ali La Jarahiya, said the company-initiated activity had a positive impact on the community. In addition to the government, appreciation is also presented by religious leaders. As expressed by Ustad Ali Zainal Abidin in his tausiyah during Ramadan safari at An Nur Mosque, Kawasi Village, Obi District. According to him, the company's assistance to orphans, the elderly and widows is very valuable, especially in the month of Ramadan.
 
"Different from gifts, the donation given to those who really need help is called sadaqah. For those who receive it, this support is very valuable," he explained.
 
Furthermore, he hopes that the positive activities done by the company can continue to be sustainable. According to him, orphans, in particular, have every right to get access to proper education for their future.
 
Wahid, an imam at the Nurul Islam mosque in Wayaloar Village, South Obi Subdistrict, expressed the same concern. According to him, the company's care for the underprivileged shows that Islamic teachings brought by the Prophet Muhammad SAW are not only verbalized, but also implemented by the company. 
"What Harita has done is in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet who really loves orphans and the poor. Not only from Muslims, Harita Nickel's Ramadan safari also received a positive response from other religious leaders. Jei Tomas Siwabessy, pastor of Eben Haezer Church in Wayaloar Village, said the iftar moment held by the company was a means to strengthen relations between religious believers.
 
"We at Eben Haezer church, as well as Anugerah church, are very happy to be able to gather with our Muslim brothers and sisters who are fasting during Ramadan. We must continue to maintain this kind of harmony for the sake of our common survival," he said.
 
<h2>Sharing Happiness
 </h2>
The Ramadan safari that was held from April 7 to 13, 2023 was quite draining. Beyond Kawasi Village, which is directly adjacent to Harita Nickel's operations, the company team divided into three groups visited other villages in three sub-districts using sea transportation. Each group spent the night in each village before continuing their journey to another village.

The crew's Sea Truck was full of boxes and sacks containing Eid gifts. The personnel, who were fasting, worked together to distribute the aid packages. On another occasion, the crew boarded a long boat under the scorching beach air in broad daylight to continue their safari to the next village. 
Apolinavis F Mbata, Community Relation Manager of Harita Nickel, said the donation was distributed to each resident based on data submitted by each local village government. He explained that the recipients are orphans, elderly, widows / widowers and religious leaders. 
"In this activity we thank the village government for making this activity run smoothly," he said. 
Furthermore, in addition to the Ramadan Safari, the company also conducts similar activities on the eve of other religious holidays such as Christmas celebrations for Christians. According to him, this religious holiday safari is a form of the company's concern for religious communities, as well as being conducted at other moments.

Interesting story told by Abu Bakar Sani, Community Relations Superintendent Harita Nickel. According to him, Ramadan Safari is a reflection of tolerance between religious communities.&nbsp; 
"If earlier delivered religious life in this village is very harmonious, as well as in our team. For example, Ms. Sheila, even though she is non-Muslim, she is the one who is the busiest in preparing this activity," he said during the Ramadan Safari activities in South Obi Sub-district.
 
Sheila Munthia Simamora was the one who coordinated the logistic distribution to South Obi Sub-District. Along with other crew members, Sheila admitted that she was happy despite having to travel from one village to another for several days.
 
"The religion that I believe in also teaches us to always spread love to all mankind. So, this activity is not just a professional duty, but also practicing the noble values taught by all religions," she said.

Safari Ramadan Around Obi Island, Harita Nickel Distributes Donations and Eid Gifts

Harita Nickel, a nickel mining and downstream company group, ensures its mining operations on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, are running in compliance with Decree of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (KEPMEN ESDM) Number 1827 of 2018 concerning Guidelines for Implementation of Good Mining Engineering Rules.
 
Harita Nickel Corporate Affairs Manager Anie Rahmi said, Harita Nickel's mining on Obi Island starts from land clearing, stripping top soil, removing overburden, taking limonite ore to be processed at HPAL plant.
 
Harita Nickel processes with hydrometallurgical technology, saprolite ore extraction to be processed with pyrometallurgical technology, mine pit closure, reclamation and revegetation.
 
"We are the first company to carry out mineral conservation which means reducing leftover rocks to be utilized as mineral resources for electric car battery raw materials," Anie said in a written statement Sunday (3/26/2023).
 
Anie also explained that the entire Harita Nickel area on Obi Island that has been operating is currently located in the Forest Area, both Production Forest (HP) and Conversion Production Forest (HPK). He ensured that Harita holds a Land Use Forests Permit (PPKH) for each land clearing.
 
People who have cultivated are given rope for the land as well as compensation for growing plants (GRTT) in accordance with Decree of the South Halmahera Regency Government.
 
"And it is not true what is alleged that the company occupies land through repressive actions and intimidation to residents, but through a transparent process and favorable payments to the community," Anie explained.
 
<h2>Remaining Nickel Processing Results
 </h2>
Anie also emphasized that there was no discharge of nickel ore into the water sources of Kawasi residents which caused sedimentation. PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (PT TBP), a subsidiary of Harita Nickel, has been placing the remaining nickel processing products into the former mining pit (Dry Stack). Dry Stack is considered a safe and environmentally friendly method that meets national and international standards.
 
The remaining processing products are not placed in Toduku River or Akelamo River, but in ex-mining land (mine out) in its dry tailings form in accordance with the Technical Approval and Operational Feasibility Letter (SLO) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
 
Commencing operations in 2010, the company has obtained environmental permits and environmental management permits from the government. Later on November 17, 2020, the government designated Harita Nickel as a national strategic project.
 
"We also have obtained permits and technical approvals from the government for processing residuals or waste, where the residuals are initially controlled, and released to the environment in compliance with established quality standards, and periodically reported to the government," Anie said.
 
<h2>Conducting Routine Inspections</h2>
During its operation, the Company's waste management always receives regular inspections and supervision from the national, provincial and district governments.
 
The relevant government agencies for the environment and mining also conduct inspections and supervision from the national, provincial and district levels on the implementation of environmental monitoring and management activities.
 
The allegations of some parties that waste disposal pipes from the company's exploration activities allegedly lead to the sea, causing ecosystems and vulnerable fish to be contaminated with heavy metals are simply not true.

Harita Nickel is the First Mining Company to Conserve Minerals

Harita Nickel again held Obi Fishing Tournament 2023 in Kawasi Waters, Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku. The second tournament held to promote biodiversity in Obi's waters was even more spectacular.
For instance, while last year's inaugural tournament was only attended by Kawasi villagers, this year's tournament was also participated by residents of its neighboring village, Soligi. A total of 193 participants from the two villages participated in the event titled "Pesona Mangael Ikang di Obi" which lasted for two days, on March 18-19, 2023.
In addition to involving more participants, the second tournament's fish catch was much heavier. The first winner was a Giant Trevally or Bobara as the locals named it, weighing 23.51 kg. In second and third position were Geropa fish weighing 15.91 kg and 15.13 kg respectively.
Committee Chairman of Obi Fishing Tournament 2023, Apolinavis F Mbata said the annual event is organized by Harita Nickel as a means of education as well as promoting biodiversity of Obi waters located around the operational site of the nickel mining and downstream company.
"With the fish catch in this year's tournament, which is more abundant, may boost up our enthusiasm and love to keep preserving the Kawasi sea," he said, during the peak of the winner announcement and prize-giving ceremony which took place on Kawasi beach, Sunday (19/2/2023).
Furthermore, it is hoped that this activity can strengthen community togetherness in the surrounding mining village with the company, which has been harmonious so far. The tournament concluded with awarding of trophies and cash prizes worth a total of IDR 44 million to six champions. This amount does not include prizes that were also given to winners of quizzes at the venue and on social media.

Kawasi Waters Still Abundant in Fish 
Saidi Jouronga (58), a resident of Kawasi Village and winner of the first Obi Fishing Tournament 2023, recognized the abundance of fish in Kawasi waters.

Saidi admits that he is still pursuing his profession as a fisherman. He goes to sea every day from 6 am and returns home in the evening. His average catch is between 20 to 30 kg. As an illustration, its price in the local village is between Rp40,000 to Rp50,000 per kilogram.
He added that when he participated in the tournament, the grandfather of 9 grandchildren went out after maghrib and at 11 pm had submitted the fish catch which was determined by the committee as the first winner. This means that he fished for only about 3 hours. And even then, he said, it was less than 2 kilometers from the shoreline. "So if anyone says there are no fish in the Kawasi sea, or even if there are fish, they don't want to eat them because the water is dirty, that's a big lie. I was born in Kawasi, and I fish here every day until now, so I know it well," he explains.
 
In line with Saidi, Hut Ibrahim (60), a local resident who also works as a fisherman, admitted that he is still fishing in the waters of Kawasi.&nbsp; Like Saidi, Ibrahim fishes using traditional equipment such as fishing rods. His catches are mostly Bobara, Grouper, Red Snapper, and squid. "We don't go to sea if the weather is not good, such as high waves. If the weather is good, we will definitely go to sea because it is for our daily needs and children's schooling," explained the second winner of the tournament.
 
The father of 6 children said he was happy with the tournament held by Harita Nickel. Cash amounting to Rp10 million prize as champion II, according to him will be used for school fees for his youngest child who is still in high school.


Obi Waters's Productivity Remains Conserved
Many studies have revealed the biodiversity of Obi Island's waters. These waters are home to natural coral reefs that serve as a breeding ground for a variety of marine life. These waters also have high fisheries productivity, characterized by many variants of fish both basic fish (demersal) and surface fish (pelagic). 
Prof. Dr. Ir. Inneke F. M. Rumengan, M.Sc, Head of Research and Community Service Institute of Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) said the waters around Obi Island have abundant fisheries productivity. Based on her research, various types of pelagic fish from small to large size and demersal fish were found. 
"This is supported by our data in terms of plankton that we observe from year to year. The abundance and biological index show that the waters are quite productive. And the plankton feeds the fish," she explained.
She said that fisheries productivity in Obi waters is well maintained. Based on her research conducted from 2015 to 2021, it was found that there was an increasing trend both in terms of number and type.
"Our team observed directly by diving to observe the types of fish that are there. Categorizing indicator fish, carnivores, herbivores. Year after year, the trend is relatively the same. Referring to coral reef fish, there tends to be a slight increase in both numbers and types in 2020-2021," Prof. Inneke explained.
For information, the research conducted by Prof. Inneke and her team from Unsrat was related to ecological conditions in the waters of Obi Island. This includes the water around Kawasi which is on the west of Obi Island.
"For the western Obi Island area, fishermen are observed mostly for their own consumption. Even if there is excess, it is sold to local buyers and not sold outside the region. The number of fishermen has also decreased because some have worked in companies there," she said.

Harita Nickel has made a number of sustainable environmental management efforts to maintain productivity as well as prevent disruption of the marine ecosystem on Obi Island.
Director of Health, Safety, and Enviromental PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (PT TBP), Tonny H. Gultom said the efforts made include regulating activities at the port such as provisions for ships not to dispose of waste in the Obi water area, releasing ballast water from ships in waters far from the port, and placing anchors in designated areas.
"This program aims to ensure environmental management is carried out in accordance with regulations and works with the best performance," Tonny said.
In addition, several marine monitoring programs are carried out which include monitoring seawater quality (physical and chemical parameters), marine sediment quality, and marine biota (plankton, benthos, coral reefs, and reef fish). This program implementation is supported by sea monitoring vehicles and equipped with well-tested technology.
Meanwhile, the Director of External Relations of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (PT TBP), Stevi Thomas, said the company continues to prioritize best practices in performing its operations that cover various aspects responsibly and sustainably.

For information, the Obi Fishing Tournament 2023 kicked off on Saturday (18/3/2023) afternoon in Kawasi Village. The tournament itself started at 17.00 WIT and ended with the weighing of the catches at around 10.00 am WIT.
In the opening and closing events, various arts and entertainment were also performed by local children presenting traditional dances. The event was made more lively by two hilarious hosts from Ternate, Tete Ko, and Saya Khoko.

Harita Nickel Again Holds Fishing Tournament in Kawasi Waters

Jakarta, March 17, 2023 – Integrated nickel mining and downstream company PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk is planning to release its shares to the public through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of as much as 12.1 billion shares on April 5 to 10 April 2023. This IPO share amount is equivalent to a maximum of 18% of the issued and paid-up capital to the public after the IPO with a nominal value of Rp100 per share. 
The initial offering or book building of shares named NCKL commenced on March 15-24, 2023. According to the plan, NCKL shares will be listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on April 12, 2023.
 
President Director of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk, Roy A. Arfandy explained, "The Company expects to raise fresh funds of around USD 650 million (or around Rp9.7 trillion) to support the completion of project construction, increase production capacity, pay off some of the Company's loans, and additional working capital."
 
"PT TBP Tbk will also allocate a maximum of 0.5% or 60.5 million shares of the IPO shares for the Company's employee stock allocation (Employee Stock Allocation, ESA) program, where the ESA exercise price is the same as the offering price," Roy said in a press release on Friday (17/3).
 
PT TBP Tbk appointed PT BNP Paribas Sekuritas Indonesia, PT Citigroup Sekuritas Indonesia, PT Credit Suisse Sekuritas Indonesia, and PT Mandiri Sekuritas as joint lead underwriters. Meanwhile, PT UOB Kay Hian Sekuritas, PT OCBC Sekuritas Indonesia, and PT DBS Vickers Sekuritas Indonesia were appointed as underwriters.
 
Exciting information for prospective investors, PT TBP Tbk will distribute dividends to shareholders of at least 30% of net profit, depending on the Company's cash flow and investment plans, Indonesian laws and regulations, and other requirements. "The company has distributed dividends since 2012 and plans to distribute dividends using the 2022 financial year, which will be distributed in 2023," Roy said.

PT TBP Tbk currently operates two active nickel laterite mining projects covering 5,523.99 hectares in Kawasi Village, South Halmahera, North Maluku through two mining concessions. The Company also has two nickel mining prospects covering 3,660.24 hectares located on Obi Island.
 
Roy further added, " PT TBP Tbk is strategically positioned to benefit from the growing need for batteries in the electric vehicle industry, in response to energy transition initiatives. This will increase demand for both nickel ore and MHP."

Meanwhile, looking at its financial performance, PT TBP Tbk's revenue from contracts with customers reached IDR 9.04 trillion during the period from January to November 2022. Up 17.32% compared to the same period last year. PT TBP Tbk also recorded other income of Rp231.30 billion, an increase of 255.82% compared to the same period the previous year of Rp65 billion. The company also managed to reduce selling, general, and administrative expenses by 9.05% from Rp873.45 billion to Rp794.43 billion.
 
PT TBP Tbk's profit for the period shot up 207.95% from IDR 1.39 trillion as of November 2021 to IDR 4.30 trillion as of November 30, 2022. Earnings per share also rose from IDR23.16 per share to IDR78.63.
 
Next, PT TBP Tbk's total assets were recorded to have increased by 12.22% from IDR29.93 trillion as of September 30, 2022, to IDR33.59 trillion as of November 30, 2022. Total equity rose from IDR12.69 trillion to IDR13.97 trillion as of November 30, 2022, with total liabilities increasing from IDR17.24 trillion as of September 30, 2022, to IDR19.61 trillion as of November 30, 2022.
