Working on a mining site doesn't always mean living in the forest with limited access and facilities. In Harita Nickel, a downstream and integrated nickel company operating on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, their <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/human-rights/our-employee" target="_blank">employees</a> have many options to meet their daily needs.
Currently, Harita Nickel through its associate business, <a href="https://hpalnickel.com/" target="_blank">PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPAL)</a> collaborated with PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA Retail Group) to open a supermarket in the living quarter area of HPAL on Obi Island. This supermarket, which is managed by Hypermart, offers a wide range of basic goods. What's more, the prices are not much different from those in urban areas.

Suddenly, the Foodmart Supermarket PT HPAL, launched on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, was stormed by the employees. The queue in front of the cashier was almost never-ending until the supermarket closed at 10:00 PM.

Satriyo Wibowo, who we met while shopping, expressed his delight at the opening of the Foodmart. He explained that the items sold were very comprehensive and could meet the daily needs of the employees.

“Especially for supplementing the nutritional needs of employees because they also sell fresh fruits and vegetables here,” he said.

Similarly, Irna, an employee of PT HPAL from the HRGA department, expressed her happiness because the mart was not only complete, but also affordable. Like other employees, she bought various necessities until her basket was full.

“It contains different items. There are fruits, eggs, vegetables, snacks, and more. The prices are very reasonable,” she exclaimed enthusiastically.

Rico Windy Albert, Head of Technical Support PT HPAL, stated that the opening of Foodmart complements the shopping facilities for employees. He hopes that with the variety of options available, employees can work more comfortably.

“In the end, it's so that employees can feel more comfortable and at home on the site. But still, don't forget to go home when it comes to field break time,” said Rico, followed by the lively laughter of the attending employees.

Meanwhile, Erik Rinaldo, a representative from PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk, expressed his interest in providing services at the Obi site due to the progressive development of Harita Nickel. It is mentioned that the Foodmart at the Obi site is the second mining area supermarket after their company opened one at PT Freeport Indonesia four years ago.

“We apologize if we're currently unable to meet all the employees needs. However, we are committed to becoming more stable in the next two to three months,” he stated.

For your information, the opening of Foodmart PT HPAL complements the shopping facilities for employees at the Obi site. At least 30 thousand workers are spread across four business units of Harita Nickel that are already actively operating, including contractors. To empower the local community, the company also facilitates the distribution of products from MSMEs managed by third parties in the shopping outlets.

In addition to shopping facilities, Harita Nickel also provides sports facilities and supports employees hobbies. These include badminton courts, football, futsal, basketball, table tennis, billiards, karaoke lounges, live bands, cinemas, swimming pools, and café. With these various facilities, employees will not get bored.

“Even though it's far from the city and away from family, the atmosphere is not boring. Amidst the busy work routine, we can exercise, do worship, and even play in a band or watch movies here,” said Ferry Ferdinand, a PT HPAL employee recruited from Jakarta.

Looking at Harita Nickel's Employee Shopping Facility in Obi Island

The presence of the nickel downstream industry on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku has had a positive impact on improving the economy of the local community. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the downstream sector has contributed significantly to the achievement of North Maluku as the province with the highest economic growth in Indonesia in the second quarter of 2023.
Amidst the expansion of the electric vehicle battery downstream industry, initiatives have emerged to preserve traditional arts as an effort to maintain the <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/human-rights/we-and-the-community/social-and-cultural-programs" target="_blank">social and cultural</a>&nbsp;wisdom of local communities. One of them is being done by an integrated nickel downstream company, Harita Nickel, which recently held a cakalele dance festival in Kawasi Village, the village surrounding its operations on Obi Island.
Apolinavis F. Mbata, Community Relation Manager of Harita Nickel, said the cakalele dance festival was part of the company's efforts to play an active role in preserving the traditions of local communities. According to him, this activity is routinely carried out by the company in collaboration with the village government and the local community.&nbsp;
"In addition to the economic sector, the company also pays great attention to the sustainability of traditional arts as a reflection of the wisdom of local communities. We hope that this arts festival can become a platform, especially for the younger generation, to learn and appreciate their ancestral heritage," said Navis.
Harita Nickel's initiative to support the preservation of traditional arts was well received by community leaders on Obi Island. Rev. Edy Karamaha, Chairman of the Tobelo-Galela Family Association of South Halmahera Regency, who is also one of the festival's judges, said the company's support was very meaningful for the sustainability of the traditions of the Tobelo people and other ethnic groups who have lived on Obi Island for generations.
"The company's collaboration with the local community to maintain and preserve this local wisdom needs to be maintained. Hopefully, through activities like this, a harmonious relationship between the community and the company can be well maintained," says Edy.
Meanwhile, from the field observation, the Cakalele dance festival was very lively. Hundreds of villagers of various ages crowded into the yard of the village office. They were willing to jostle each other to watch the participants show their dancing skills.

A total of 18 participants, consisting of individual, group, children and adult categories, performed alternately. Accompanied by the sound of gong and tifa in a fast rhythm, they danced energetically with machetes, spears and salawaku. According to historical records, Cakalele is a war dance of the Maluku people to repel invaders.
Unlike the previous year, this festival was held in the new settlement of Kawasi Village. This new settlement is a local government program facilitated by Harita Nickel to provide decent housing for local residents. It has been equipped with public facilities such as village government offices, health centers, school buildings, places of worship, and access to clean water and 24-hour electricity.
So far, some residents have started their activities in the new settlement. Of the 259 housing units that are ready for occupancy, at least 50 houses have been occupied by residents. In addition, the village government has begun to set up offices there. Since last September, the learning activities of junior and senior high school students have also been moved to the new settlement.
Although some residents still live in the old settlement, they all seem to live in harmony with each other, enlivening the annual company and community agenda, which this year was held in the new settlement.
Reinhard Siar, Chairman of the Village Council (BPD) of Kawasi Village, confirmed that some residents have moved to the new settlement. He hopes that those who remain in the old settlement will be able to move into the houses that have been made available to them.&nbsp;
"Hopefully, other residents can follow soon because the facilities in the new settlement are more complete and ready for occupancy," he explained.

Cakalele Dance Festival, preserving tradition in the midst of nickel mining on Obi Island

This is exemplified by Harita Nickel, which prioritizes Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and strategically involves the community on Obi Island in its operations.
At the forefront of building trust with local communities is Margarita Ludara, Community Relation Supervisor at PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk, representing the key role of Harita People.
Rita, also known as Margarita, is deeply involved in the community to ensure that the company's programs align with local norms and values. Challenges arise when there are conflicting interests between the company and the community, but Rita's persistence and conviction help resolve these tensions.&nbsp;

She was born and raised in Kawasi Village where PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk operates an integrated nickel downstream. Joining in 2018 as a Community Relation Staff, she has since grown into her role as Community Relation Supervisor despite facing initial career challenges.
"The process was not easy from the beginning of my career here as a staff until now carrying the mandate as Community Relation Supervisor," she explained.
Working in a company within her local community demonstrates Rita's strong sense of responsibility towards her hometown. As an alumna of Maluku Christian University with a major in Theology, she deeply understands the needs and expectations of the local residents&mdash;an invaluable advantage that will facilitate acceptance by the community.&nbsp;
However, being both a company representative and part of the local community occasionally poses challenges for Rita. Her commitment to aiding the community can at times become overwhelming when personal relationships, such as with neighbors or family, intersect with professional obligations. Building Communication Bridges between Companies and Local Communities

Harita Nickel partnered with the North Maluku Provincial Language Office to host a Technical Guidance for future Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers instructors. This activity is part of the <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/human-rights/our-employee" target="_blank">human resource</a> development program, which was held to equip translators with Indonesian language learning knowledge for Foreign Workers (TKA).
A total of 25 participants attended the training on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at <a href="https://hpalnickel.com/" target="_blank">PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPAL)</a>&nbsp;Living Quarter. These included translators and administrative staff who work with foreign workers in various business units.&nbsp;
Junaidi Arief, HR&GA Superintendent of PT HPAL, emphasized that the Bimtek is crucial for introducing Indonesian language and culture to foreign workers at the Obi site so that they can easily pick up the language through effective teaching methods.
"The standardization and rules of Indonesian language teaching that have been delivered by the North Maluku Language Office can make it easier for foreign workers at the Obi site to understand Indonesian," he said.
Furthermore, Junaidi said all foreign workers have been introduced to Indonesian culture through induction given when they first arrived at the Obi site. For example, they were told about what they could and could not do in Indonesia. With the introduction of culture and language teaching, he said, cultural acculturation and synergy between foreign workers and migrant workers can be implemented in work.
Meanwhile, Head of the North Maluku Provincial Language Office, Dr Arie Andrasyah Isa, S.S, M.Hum said BIPA is a priority program from the government to internationalize Indonesian. According to him, Harita Nickel as a company that employs foreign workers needs to provide Indonesian language lessons to facilitate their communication in carrying out their work.&nbsp;

Harita Nickel organizes BIPA instructor training to advance the internationalization of Indonesian language

Everyone at Harita Nickel is a leader in their respective workplaces. Both for oneself, and for others. Being a leader for ourselves, we are required to always carry out every activity according to the work procedures that apply in the company. While being a leader for others, we must be able to set an example through action. In this case, what we say is what we do. 
That was a discussion in leadership training held by PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (TBP) on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Jikodolong meeting room. A total of 20 participants from various departments learned together about the ins and outs of leadership. From what are the duties and responsibilities of a leader, what tools are needed, various leadership models to decision-making techniques.
This activity is part of the <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/human-rights/our-employee" target="_blank">human resource</a> development program at Harita Nickel.

The full-day training was very interactive. Guided by two presenters and a facilitator, the training was mostly conducted through discussions and case-solving simulations. In the first session, led by Vernard Hutabarat, participants were assigned to deliver a presentation in front of the class. One of the important points to note was that a good leader communicates messages in a clear and interesting manner, so as to influence others to act. 
In the second session, guided by Ngainur Rofiek, participants practiced simulating the application of leadership styles. By understanding several leadership models, participants were expected to find the most appropriate leadership style for themselves. In this case, the most suitable with one's strengths and work environment.

Ngainur Rofiek said this leadership training was aimed at enabling each employee to carry out their work according to the tasks assigned by the company's management. "To what extent will PT TBP Tbk survive? As far as we as leaders are able to maintain company values," he said.
 
For information, leadership training is held by PT TBP in stages. In the third batch, the training was attended by supervisor and superintendent employees from several departments. PT TBP Conducts Leadership Training to Boost Employee Performance

Harita Nickel, through one of its subsidiaries, PT Jikodolong Megah Pertiwi (JMP), provided financial support for the construction of Darul Taqwa Mosque in New Village, Obi District, South Halmahera Regency.
The Rp 150 million donation was symbolically handed over by Andri Rudiarto, Community Relation Superintendent of Harita Nickel, to the Chairman of the Darul Taqwa Mosque Construction Committee, La Saaru Lantoroso, on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Andri Rudiarto said the financial support for the construction of the mosque is part of the company's c<a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/human-rights/we-and-the-community" target="_blank">ommunity development and empowerment (PPM)</a> program in its operating area on Obi Island.&nbsp;
"At present, the PT Jikodolong Megah Pertiwi project is still in the exploration stage. Therefore, we ask for the support of all villagers so that the company's operations can run smoothly and continue to grow so that the company can also contribute more to the welfare of the local community," said Andri.
Harita Nickel's efforts were recognized by the local village government. The head of Baru village, through the village secretary, Anganria La Husen, expressed his gratitude for the company's support.&nbsp;
"We hope that this assistance can be useful to the residents and that the company can continue to pay attention to the surrounding community," said Anganria.
The same sentiment was expressed by the sub-district chief of Obi through the sub-district secretary, Risno Tjia. According to him, the company's commitment is exceptional.&nbsp;
"On behalf of the Obi sub-district government, we are very proud of the support provided by the company. Although the JMP project is still in the exploration stage, the company has actively reached out to local residents," he said.
For information, the Rp150 million financial assistance will be paid in three stages. Every month, the company will provide Rp50 million in assistance, with 50 percent in cash and 50 percent in construction materials.

Harita Nickel supports the construction of a mosque in New Village

Harita Nickel conducted entrepreneurship training for its sponsored business groups on Obi Island. This activity is conducted to enhance the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the realization of the economic independence of local communities.
A total of 33 participants, who are representatives of various groups sponsored by Harita Nickel, attended the two-day training on October 20-21, 2023. Participants learned about culinary business management, product packaging, and marketing strategies. They also received direct guidance from relevant agencies regarding licensing and business capital.
Evand Roos, Operations Director of Harita Nickel Younsel, said that entrepreneurship training for MSMEs is part of the Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program. He hopes that the businesses run by the supported group will continue to grow and have a greater impact on the surrounding community.
"The key to successful entrepreneurship is to have a strong will, an indomitable spirit, and to keep innovating. Our role as mentors is to ensure that these supported MSMEs are on the right track," he said.
Broto Suwarso, Community Development Manager of Harita Nickel, explained that there are as many as seven sponsored groups in the developing category. This sponsored group consists of three business lines, namely food processing, agriculture, and fishery MSMEs.&nbsp;
He explained that the sponsored MSMEs have cooperated with four business units of Harita Nickel by becoming suppliers for employee canteens, providing mini-market and cafe services. The total monthly turnover has reached Rp 8 billion!&nbsp;
Broto also highlighted a number of challenges faced by MSME players. These include how to maintain production quality and continuity, how to provide fair access to capital, and how to break the chain of middlemen. As a result, the company continues to provide support and build the business management capacity of the MSMEs it supports.&nbsp;
Last month, Harita Nickel, through the Community&nbsp;Development&nbsp;team, conducted a mini-workshop on Pre Technical Guidance (Bimtek) and Household Industry Products (PIRT) at one of the UMKM production houses supported by Harita Nickel in Kawasi village. A speaker from the Health Office conveyed the efforts that need to be made to maintain the quality and safety of MSME products.

Encourage MSMEs to Level Up: Harita Nickel Hosts Entrepreneurship Training

Various kinds of potential hazards lurk in our work environment at the Obi site. Like an uninvited guest, the threat of danger can come at any time. When employees are working in the office or in the field. Even when we are sleeping soundly in the living quarter. Therefore, Insan Harita needs to always be disciplined in applying work <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/id/sustainability/occupational-health-safety" target="_blank">safety</a> principles as a preventive effort. 
In addition to taking preventive measures, we also need to prepare ourselves for emergencies. For example, when a fire occurs. To train employees' readiness to face the situation, Harita Nickel held an emergency response simulation or emergency drill. This emergency response training is carried out intensively by each business unit. From rescue simulations due to work accidents to natural disasters.&nbsp;
The drill is a means to hone the skills and cohesiveness of the crew on duty in the field. The leading sector is the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in each business unit. In carrying out its mission, ERT is equipped with equipment and also supported by teams from other departments according to case handling needs.&nbsp;
From this drill, the effectiveness of the implementation of systems, procedures, and emergency response planning can be measured. This includes testing the implementation of communication protocols, evacuation, victim handling, and equipment usage. Anything that is still lacking will be used as evaluation material to improve readiness in dealing with actual emergency situations.&nbsp;
With emergency response training, companies can reduce the risk of injury or loss of life. It is also an effort to comply with regulations and legislation related to safety and emergencies in the workplace.
The following are some of the emergency drill activities carried out both independently in internal business units and jointly with other business units.
<h2>Earthquake and Fire Management</h2>

Scenario: An earthquake occurred in the living quarter (LQ) complex of <a href="https://hpalnickel.com/" target="_blank">PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPAL)</a>. This event caused one of the living quarter buildings to collapse and there were victims injured. At the same time, there was a fire caused by an electrical short circuit in the canteen kitchen area.&nbsp;

The drill was led by ERT and involved personnel from other departments and also included employees of PT Aden as the canteen vendor. Each person received an assignment. The ERT crew was in charge of evacuating and extinguishing the fire, security secured the evacuation route, and paramedics provided first aid to the victims. There were also volunteers who played the role of victims.&nbsp;
Outside of the crew on duty, employees in the living quarter and the canteen were not told about the drill scenario. The goal is for the simulation to run naturally. How they respond when they find out that there is an earthquake and fire, becomes a measure of employee readiness to face emergency situations. The same applies to the officers in the field. The way they carry out rescue missions is also assessed by the supervisory team. Everything becomes evaluation material for improvement.&nbsp;
<h2>Handling hazardous waste spills</h2>
Scenario: There was a used oil spill in the workshop area of <a href="https://hjferonikel.com/id/" target="_blank">PT Halmahera Jaya Feronikel (HJF)</a>. The drum containing B3 waste fell during the transportation process and the oil spilled on the face of an employee on duty. Other employees who saw the incident rushed to help but fell on the oil spill.
First aid measures were taken, and the drum was immediately reversed so that the spill did not spread. Then the safety crew at the location reported the incident to the command center. While waiting for the ERT and Enviro team to arrive, the victim was taken to the eye wash station. While other victims who suffered hand injuries were evacuated to a safe location.&nbsp;
To prevent further casualties, the safety crew sprinkled the spill area with sand and installed a spill control kit to neutralize hazardous substances from the hazardous waste spill. Security gave directions for other employees not to approach the location and docked to the gathering point.&nbsp;
Shortly after, the medical team, ERT, and Enviro team arrived at the scene. While the medical team helped the victim, ERT, and Enviro crews handled the spill area so as not to impact the environment.
<h2>Handling oil spills in ports</h2>

Scenario: An oil spill has occurred at the Persada 3 jetty. Oil is often loaded and unloaded at this location.&nbsp;
The exercise involved OHS, Enviro, Marine Port Security, and ERT teams from all business units. The sequence of operations was as follows: first, Port Security reported the incident to the Command Center. To prevent the spill from spreading, officers on the scene were instructed to set up an oil boom.&nbsp;
Upon arrival at the site, all crews conducted a briefing to determine the next steps in the recovery process. All personnel were at their respective posts. Once the boom was in place, the oil skimmer and dispersant were deployed. This salvage step is carried out in accordance with applicable standards. In addition to increasing preparedness, this exercise was conducted as a first step to support the Green Port 2024.
<h2>High Angle Rescue</h2>

ERT crews from all business units conducted a joint High Angle Rescue Techniques (HART) drill. The situation could be a work accident or even a disaster. Before the practical exercise in the Nirwana area of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (TBP), the participants received classroom materials led by instructors from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Ternate City.&nbsp;
There is a high risk of danger in high-altitude rescue. Therefore, the rescuers must master the correct and safe techniques to carry out their mission safely. [IC]

Prepare Employees to Face Emergency Situations, Harita Nickel Intensifies Emergency Drill

The official conclusion of the Harita Nickel 2023 Olympics took place during the Closing Ceremony held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, coinciding with the commemoration of the Youth Pledge Day. The Closing Ceremony, which was presented in a music concert at the Nirwana Football Field of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (PT TBP), marked the end of the entire series of competitions that had been taking place since September.&nbsp;

In this inaugural Olympics, PT Halmahera Jaya Feronikel (HJF) emerged as the overall champion with a total score of 34 points, closely followed by PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPL) with 32 points. Meanwhile, PT TBP and PT Megah Surya Pertiwi (MSP) had to settle for third and fourth place.

Catur Prasetyo, one of the winners of the videography competition, expressed his admiration for the organization of the Harita Nickel 2023 Olympics. He noted that the event not only served as a platform to strengthen camaraderie among employees but also succeeded in increasing love for the company.&nbsp;
"In addition to strengthening communication among employees, this event also strengthens the love and pride for the company," he said.&nbsp;
Rexi Mappadang, the winner of the Harita Idol competition, echoed similar sentiments. The golden-voiced Harita member said the Olympics successfully united employees from all business units, including local and international workers.
"This activity demonstrates the company's attention to developing employees' potential in sports and the arts. I have made many new friends and feel closer to colleagues throughout the company," he said.

The spirit of togetherness reflected in the slogan "One Harita, One Story" resonated once again at the closing concert of the Olympics. The expressions of joy and love overflowed as guest star Fresly Nikijuluw took the stage. At least 1500 Harita members immersed themselves in the familiar melodies. It turned out that the enthusiasm of Harita members for the entire Olympics extended to the company's leadership.
Younsel Evand Roos, representing the Board of Directors that evening, posed a question. "What do you think about having the Olympics again next year and making it an annual event?" he asked from the stage, immediately receiving a resounding "Agreed!" followed by cheers and roars from thousands of Harita members listening below the stage. Euphoria of Harita Nickel 2023 Olympic Closing Concert

Insan Harita has a big event from September to October 2023. For the first time, we are holding an Olympics that is participated in by all business units at the Obi Site. This activity is organized to foster unity among business units through fair competition. 
Carrying the theme "One Harita, One Story," the Harita Nickel Olympics 2023 serves as a platform to celebrate diversity, talent, and the spirit of struggle of each individual. The Walik Benjol bird, the Olympics' mascot, symbolizes Insan Harita's concern for preserving the surrounding environment, including the endemic fauna of Obi Island.
In essence, the message conveyed by this Olympics is that Insan Harita, spread across various departments in each business unit, is a unified force in realizing the company's mission of responsibly and sustainably carrying out the downstreaming mandate.
The Harita Nickel Olympics 2023 officially commenced on September 2 at the indoor badminton court, within the Living Quarter area of PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPL). The event will conclude on October 28 at the football field, within the office/yard area of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (TBP) Nirwana. Currently, competitions are underway and will continue until October 24.
The competitions are divided into two categories, namely sports and arts. The sports category includes futsal, basketball, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, chess, and e-sports. Meanwhile, the arts category includes singing, photography, and videography competitions.
Most of these competitions were previously held in each business unit during the commemoration of Indonesia's 78th Independence Day in July-August 2023. For this Olympics, each business unit has sent their best delegations, three representatives for the sports category and four for the arts. They will compete for the overall champion title, determined by the accumulation of points from all branches of the competition.<h2>What Insan Harita's said:</h2>Fardiman Jamhal, the captain of Team Ewako from PT Halmahera Jaya Feronikel (HJF), who emerged as the champion of the Mobile Legends e-sports competition, said the Olympics had many positive effects on the employees. Fardiman and his four team members admitted to finding entertainment and making new friends.
"This event is exceptional. Very positive and fun. Through this event, we have made new acquaintances from other business units," said Fardiman.
The BPJS-TK team from PT Megah Surya Pertiwi (MSP) echoed similar sentiments. The runners-up in the e-sports competition expressed their excitement at being able to participate in the Olympics. According to them, this activity has become a platform for fostering camaraderie among fellow e-sports enthusiasts at Harita Nickel.
"We hope to hold this again in the future. So that everyone knows that Harita is big and we are one," replied the five members of the BPJS-TK team in unison.
The competitions were held at night, amidst the routine work of the Insan Harita. For those working in shifts, the schedule was adjusted according to the working hours of their respective departments. Thanks to this good cooperation and solidarity, everyone was motivated to make this first Olympic Games a success, whether as players, spectators or organizers.The captain of the HJF Jaya basketball team, Risal S. Awal, admitted that they did not prepare specifically. His team relied on collective practice, which they often did during their off-weeks or other opportunities. Risal and the team usually played basketball using the facilities provided by the company, as did other enthusiasts of various sports.
In addition to Mobile Legends and basketball, chess and futsal were also played. Currently, HJF leads the leaderboard with 19 points, followed by TBP and MSP with 6 points, and HPL at the bottom with 5 points. The positions could change as there are still many matches to be played.
The Olympic event became even more lively with the enthusiasm of the fans. This was revealed by Christoforus Nanda, the coordinator of the basketball competition held at HJF. It was mentioned that almost every game was always packed with spectators.
"Here we maintain sportsmanship and solidarity. This event is very positive as a platform for fostering relationships among employees from each BU. We introduce each BU to the other BUs with the slogan 'One Harita, One Story'," said Christo.
Agus Setiawan, the coordinator of the Mobile Legends competition held at the courtyard of the Activity Center within HPL's Living Quarter complex, echoed similar sentiments. Although not a physical sport, e-sports also attracted a crowd of spectators. They watched the battle between the two teams on the big screen.
The pride of being part of the Harita Nickel Olympics 2023 was expressed by Susanty Feronica Zees of MSP and Muhammad Risal of TBP. On the opening night of the Olympics, Santi and her band from MSP performed to entertain the crowd. Meanwhile, Risal, along with employee representatives from TBP, also helped liven up the opening event.
"We are grateful and proud to perform in front of friends from other BUs. The trust given to us has made us more enthusiastic about making music as a hobby in between work activities. In addition, the support from the company is significant," said Santi.
The vibrancy of the Olympics also became a hot topic on social media. Since the Olympics began, many Insan Harita seem to have shared photos and videos on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Netizens praised the company for making it easier for employees to socialize and pursue hobbies amid their work routines.
